Towards Optimality Preserving Aggregation for Scheduling Distributed Energy Resources

Scheduling the power exchange between a population of heterogeneous distributed energy resources and corresponding upper level grid is an important control problem in systems. A key challenge large number (partially uncertain) variables that increase computational burden complicate structured consideration uncertainties. Reducing decision by means aggregation can help alleviate these issues. However, despite frequent use for populations storage devices, few works literature provide formal justification. In this article, we investigate (storage) devices with time-varying constraints. particular, propose mild conditions on constraints each device, guaranteeing applicability aggregated model scheduling without any loss optimality comparison to complete problem. We illustrate our findings relevant example.
